So, you’re ready to set your first goal! How do you get started?
You can add a new goal using the Add a goal links on the dashboard, on the goals page, or directly within a 1:1.
If you're a coach or a manager, you'll have the ability to specify a goal owner. If you're an employee, the owner will always be you.
Tip: All goals in Willow are personal goals, owned by an individual. However, we've made it easy to assign the same goal to multiple people at once. To add a team goal, just add multiple owners and this will create separate, independent goals for each owner.
First up, you'll need to give the goal a title–what are you trying to achieve?
Then, you need to specify how it will be measured. There are four ways to measure goals in Willow:
- Yes/No: this is a goal that is either complete or incomplete e.g. create a winning team culture
- #: a numeric value e.g. increase NPS by 3 points by the end of Q2
- $: a currency value e.g. secure $20,000 of new business this month
- %: a goal measured by a percentage e.g. grow revenue by 30% this quarter
Simply choose the one that suits.
Next, set dates for your goal. Both start and end date are optional, however, your goal will be in Draft status until you set an end date for it.
Tips: Adding dates for your goals means you’ll receive platform notifications to remind you when they’re due.
Not ready to set your goal yet? Just leave the dates blank to keep your goal in draft form.
If you have a specific category or tag your goal fits in, you can use labels to specify that.
Finally, if there's a 1:1 that relates to your goal, you can either link an existing one or create a new one.
When you’re happy with your goal, click Save goal. Remember you can always come back and edit your goal, provided it is not a past or completed goal.
